When you start working for the NHS you receive 27 days annual leave, pro rata, plus bank holidays. After five years this increases to 29 days and to 33 days after 10 years’ service. We also provide options for unpaid career leave and special leave needs.

The Trust offers generous maternity, paternity and adoption leave and pay. There is also the option to take ordinary and shared parental leave. Your entitlement depends on the amount of NHS continuous service, as detailed in the Trust’s policy.

The NHS pension scheme is still one of the most generous and comprehensive in the UK. When you start working in the NHS you automatically become a member and you will get an excellent package of pension benefits.

Frimley Health is committed to ensuring the health and wellbeing of our employees. We offer an Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) which offers a free, confidential, counselling service 24/7. The EAP can also support staff and their families with a wide range of concerns including stress, anxiety, smoking cessation, alcohol consumption, fitness and many other personal issues.

The Trust partnered with Wagestream, a service that allows staff to access a percentage of their pay as they earn it rather than waiting for payday. This helps staff avoid cash flow problems and can help reduce some of the stress that comes with only be paid once a month. It can also help employees avoid the use of high cost credit, such as pay day loans. Wagestream also provide free financial support and education.

The Trust has a dedicated Occupational Health Service that provide advice and support to employees to promote their health and wellbeing in the workplace.

Pinetrees Restaurant at Frimley Park Hospital, the Courtyard Restaurant at Wexham Park Hospital and the Greenwood Restaurant at Heathwood Hospital provide a wide range of meals, snacks and drinks to staff. Healthy options are available and there is a focus on ensuring that green packaging is provided where possible.

A staff gym is located at Frimley Park Hospital.

The Trust offers affordable, high quality nursery care and education for children aged 3 months to 5 years. Frimley Park and Wexham Park Hospitals both have purpose-built day nurseries where children thrive in their development and progress in their education.

The key worker accommodation for Frimley Park and Heatherwood is owned and managed by Metropolitan Thames Valley Housing. All accommodation is purpose built, modern well maintained. The key worker accommodation at Wexham Park is owned and managed by L&Q (London and Quadrant).

The Health Services library is available to all Trust staff. A range of services and resources are offered. The library’s main stock consists of books and journals that support study, research and patient care.

In June 2020, the Trust introduced a car lease scheme, which allows staff to make tax savings. The scheme also includes the cost of insurance, servicing, vehicle tax, breakdown cover and tyre and windscreen replacement. It is a cost-effective way to lease a brand-new car.

Parking is available on all our sites and for those who cycle to work there is secure bicycle storage, showers and changing rooms.

The Trust also have number of electric pool cars that staff can use to travel between sites.

The Trust also supports car sharing and for those that travel to work in a car share staff can apply for preferential car parking.

All substantive members of staff are given the opportunity to join the staff lottery. This helps raise funds for the direct benefit of staff within the Trust and there is a monthly prize draw where a number of winners of cash prizes are selected.
