Unfortunately due to COVID-19 we have temporarily suspended the recruitment of volunteers within Frimley Health Trust. Under normal circumstances volunteers are vital in our work delivering exceptional patient care and so we do urge you to check back when lockdown restrictions are lifted to find out how to get involved.

In the meantime we advise you to explore local avenues for supporting your community, either through your local council, community groups or local charities. The best way you can support the NHS at present is to keep yourself safe and to help others to do the same.

Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust very much welcomes volunteers. We ask that applicants who are applying to be a volunteer commit to volunteering for at least three hours a week for a minimum of one year, there are over 20 different roles that you can apply for.

Volunteering takes place at Wexham Park Hospital, Frimley Park Hospital, Heatherwood Hospital and also Fleet and Farnham Hospitals. All volunteers must be aged 16 or over. Volunteering can take place on any day between 0800 hrs and 2000hrs, subject to the needs of the unit/ward that you are volunteering with.

To find out more about volunteering you need to come to a Volunteer Information Session. At this session you will be given a full explanation of volunteering within the Trust, details of what roles are presently available and the recruitment process and it will also be an opportunity to ask any questions that you may have concerning volunteering.

After attending the information session and submitting your application you will be invited for an interview, if successful some standard checks will be made.

Once processed you will then be invited to a Volunteers Induction Session, enabling you to begin your volunteering.

All our volunteers receive training and mentoring in relation to the area/role that you will be volunteering in, so please don’t worry that you would be thrown in at the deep end!

You can find more information about our wide range of volunteering opportunities on our Frimley Health Charity website, or by contacting Nicola Monk, Voluntary Services Deputy Manager at nicola.monk3@nhs.net or 07833 200 378.
